GFCD Ministry Team

Woven together

Grace Faith Christian Discipleship is woven together by the anointing of each of the GFCD teachers, pastors, and helpers that God has sent us from around the globe. United by one faith, one love, one baptism, and one hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, we serve our Almighty Creator and humbly seek to rightly divine the Word of God as the Holy Spirit gives each of us revelation just as God has promised in His Word.

Founding members

Garry Preston

Garry Preston

Co-founder | director | secretary | public officer

Home – Ipswich Queensland Australia.

Garry was born-again somewhere between 9-12 years of age in Sunday school. Garry was not offered the opportunity of discipleship until thirty years later so for all those years he lived a very worldly life, until in 1993 God intervened and Garry experienced a series of supernatural encounters over about a one month period, culminating in Garry receiving the revelation of his own salvation. This is the moment his direction in life changed 180 deg.

At 15 Garry was filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke, what he thought at the time was gibberish. It wasn’t until he was 43 that he again experienced this and then he realised he was actually speaking in tongues.

Garry’s discipleship began in Word of Faith doctrine when he was 43, which continued for a little less than a decade. From the moment his discipleship commenced he actively stepped into various ministry roles, commencing with two years street ministry.

Garry was baptised in water by Ps David Sweet in 1993.

Garry graduated from Laymen’s School of Ministry in 1998, where he received training from Ps David & Ps Lindy Sweet who were both graduates of Rhema Bible Training Centre Perth Western Australia.

Since 2002, Garry has listened to Andrew Wommack’s Gospel Truth TV, AWM audio-visual teachings and Charis Bible College teachers. He has transitioned to the ‘Balance of Grace & Faith’ doctrine, which he believes is the current move of the Holy Spirit today.

Garry met Gloria online in 2007 and they married 6 months later. Soon after, they commenced a home Bible Study which ran in various locations, until they took their Bible Study on-line in 2018 which was the beginning of GFCD. Together with Gloria, Garry (at the age of 68) founded Grace Faith Christian Discipleship and today it is a registered not-for-profit charity in Australia.

Garry has four children from his previous marriage …two boys and twin daughters. He has eleven grandchildren and at the age of 73 became a great-grandfather (twice in the same year). Praise be to our living Jesus! Should you mistakenly think Garry’s getting old, please allow me to tell you of some of Garry’s recent fetes. Garry’s an electrician by trade and at the time of writing this bio Garry’s still doing physically demanding electrical jobs in the couple’s home. Some of that electrical work require Garry to climb and swing through the ceiling of their home like a young orangutang 🙂

Gloria Preston

Gloria Preston

Co-founder | editor | bookkeeper

Home – Ipswich Queensland Australia.

Raised in a Catholic/Italian home, Gloria Preston loved Jesus from the time she was a child. In her twenties, she sought a spiritual answer to the problems in her life and became born again at 27. Soon after she sought the Lord for direction, then asked for the filling of the Holy Spirit. The evidence came initially as singing in a spiritual language, then speaking in tongues.

Gloria became hungry for knowledge of the Word, attended a local church and sought out face to face Bible studies. She loved to glean wisdom from the books and teachings of teachers such as Ps. Col Stringer, Joyce Meyer, Charles Capps, and Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, amongst others.

God powerfully revealed His unconditional Love and Grace to Gloria in 2006 through a book (On Eagles Wings), a jigsaw puzzle of an eagle, and an in-depth personal study of the Word. This revelation took Gloria from the depths of despair to flying on eagles wings. She was invited to share her testimony on several occasions.

In 2007, she met her husband Garry Preston through a very romantic, God-ordained online courtship. He introduced her to audios and videos by Andrew Wommack and, later, more teachers through Charis Bible College.

Together, Gloria & Garry started a Bible study in their home in  Queensland. When they relocated to Western Australia they started another Bible study. After retirement, ministry took a different format as Garry developed a social media outreach & GFCD was conceived.

For 20 years, Gloria worked as an Education Assistant in both government and private schools in Western Australia & Queensland. She is now retired from employment with her focus being on the Lord’s work.

In the past, she has served in two churches as a lesson planner and implementer of children’s ministry. Gloria has written and illustrated a children’s book called ‘Dear Navya’ and is available as a video on YouTube.

Her calling is in the ministry of helps, and she supports her husband Garry with hosting GFCD’s interactive online Bible Studies, management of ministry bookkeeping, and audio/video editing. At the start of GFCD Bible studies, Gloria presents a short Communion message from her heart that is inspired by a Word from God.

Gloria and Garry Preston have been married since 2007. Gloria has two adult sons from a previous marriage but no grandchildren of her own… yet!

Darrin Samuel

Darrin Samuel

GFCD ministry team member

Home – Colorado Springs USA.

Evangelist, Jay Darrin Samuel was born into a Christian family in Denver, Colorado and was born again at the age of four. Attending church regularly, he was baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit at the age of 12. He then drifted far away from his faith in High School and during his 20’s, indulging himself in many worldly pleasures.

On November 22, 1998, while attending a crowded church service in Aurora, Colorado, he was publicly called into ministry by the Lead Pastor at the end of the service. The summary of the Prophetic Word given was, “Just like David, God is calling you out of the field because He wants to anoint you and has a special ministry for you. This ministry will lead many people out of the darkness, because you know about the darkness.” Then an Associate Pastor was sent over to anoint and pray with him. Being stuck in religion, legalism, and a mindset of self-righteous works, the rollercoaster life of serving the Lord and then falling back into his life of darkness seemed endless. In 2013, maybe the worst year of his life, he was introduced to Andrew Womack through a little blue book titled, “Self-Centeredness, the Source of all Grief.” After realizing that ALL of his problems were from his own selfishness and self-centeredness, he decided to abandon his life and career in a desperate, last-ditch effort to somehow fulfill the calling that had been placed on his life 15 years prior; and he enrolled in Charis Bible College. After completing three years of Bible College and becoming a licensed minister, he is evangelizing the lost and discipling them through his ministry, Christ’s Kingdom Initiative. He has developed a training program to help others share their faith within their circle of influence and in public with strangers.

Patrick Kigongo

Patrick Kigongo

GFCD ministry team member

Home – Ginger, Uganda, East Africa.

Minister Patrick Kigongo became a social worker before marrying at the age of 32.  He works for a non-profit that aims to reduce poverty and transform communities through a health, education, agriculture, and livelihood programme. He is married to Susan, with whom they have two boys.

At the age of 11, Patrick lost his mother. Four years later, his father passed on as well.  With both parents gone, the world seemed a dark place. Patrick was clothed with anxiety about where the source of his livelihood, school, and healthcare needs would come from amidst other concerns like the ability to retain his family home after his parents’ death and the separation of his siblings.

In 2003 at the age of 23, Patrick chose to give his life to Christ in an Evangelical church. A decision that transformed his life from then to this present day. However, years later in his walk, Patrick felt a strong desire to start speaking in tongues. He recalled having fellowship with a friend who had been an ardent follower of Andrew Womack’s Gospel Truth programs and later on recommended both the TV program and other AWM resources. That in itself was a turning point!

Patrick went on to enroll for the Discipleship Evangelism program under Charis Bible College in Uganda, a program that availed him the opportunity to not only be spiritually enriched, but also the grace to evangelise within his local community. Patrick is also proud to be a part of the Grace Faith Christian Discipleship ministry headed by both Garry & Gloria Preston.

Patrick has actively stepped into different ministry roles from being a youth leader, to now a zonal leader at his local church, Worship Harvest.

Patrick’s life has not been short on challenges. In February 2014, he encountered a near-death experience when robbers armed with pangas and machetes broke into his house. He was cut, beaten, and left nearly lifeless. He was left in a state that no one would ever imagine he would be alive today; all hope was gone in the eyes of whoever came to visit whilst he was on that hospital bed. Patrick gives thanks to the love and mercies of God that have carried him to this day.

Occasionally, Patrick preaches at his local church, but his heartbeat is for the orphans and hurting world, where he feels God has called him to be a beacon of hope.

Patrick lives with his family in Jinja, Uganda, East Africa.

Eric lives in corn country. His connection with GFCD was indeed supernatural …another God encounter. Eric was at home scrolling through FaceBook when he stumbled across a GFCD Live-Streamed Bible study.

A day or so later Eric was interviewed on a TV show in America. During the interview he read from his notes what he’d gleaned from the GFCD Bible study.

Later that night Eric wrote in the comments section below the GFCD Bible study alerting me to view the TV show which I did and as they say, the rest is history.
